Christopher Redfearn 

Christopher Redfearn is Director of Choral Activities and Instructor of Voice at Valley City State University. He earned the Bachelor of Music in Education at Brigham Young University, the Master of Music in Conducting at Michigan State University, and the Doctor of Arts in Conducting and Education at the University of Northern Colorado. Redfearn has experience conducting choirs at all age levels, from elementary through high school students, collegiate ensembles, and adult community choirs. He has seven years of teaching experience in high school choral positions in Idaho and Michigan. His high school choirs consistently scored superior ratings at choral festivals. His 2007 Kearsley High School A Cappella Choir was invited to appear at the Disney Honors Choral Invitational in Orlando, Florida, where they performed for nationally-known judges, including Joseph Flummerfelt, Jing Ling Tam, Craig Jessop, and Weston Noble. Redfearn recently led the Colorado Mormon Chorale in a juried performance at the 2012 Colorado Music Educators Association Conference, the only community ensemble invited to do so. He has conducted choirs across the United States, in Austria, and in the Czech Republic. Redfearn has studied conducting and choral literature with Ronald Staheli, Mack Wilberg, David Rayl, Jonathan Reed, Mary Alice Stollak, Jill Burleson, and Galen Darrough.
