To earn an “A”
· Complete all assignments on time to a high level of creativity
and accomplishment.
· Push your abilities into new areas of creativity and show
a command of skills and tools.
· Go beyond the requirements in at least two assignments.
· Attend all demonstrations.
· Attend all critiques.
· Fulfill studio time requirement in the lab and document
that fulfillment in your studio journal.
· Complete the required reading and response assignments.
· Attend at least three Gallery Receptions and/or artist
presentations and turn in responses.
To earn a “B”
· Complete all assignments on time to a high level of creativity
and accomplishment.
· Push your abilities into new areas of creativity and show
a command of skills and tools.
· Go beyond the requirements in at least one assignment.
· Attend all demonstrations.
· Attend all critiques.
· Fulfill studio time requirement in the lab and document
that fulfillment in your studio journal.
· Complete the required reading and response assignments.
· Attend at least two Gallery Receptions and/or artist presentations
and turn in responses.
To earn a “C”
· Complete all assignments to a high level of creativity
and accomplishment. Or complete assignments on time.
· Push your abilities into acceptable areas of creativity
and show an acceptable command of skills and tools.
· Attend all demonstrations.
· Attend all critiques.
· Fulfill studio time requirement in the lab and document
that fulfillment in your studio journal.
· Complete most of the required reading and response assignments.
· Attend at least one Gallery Reception and/or artist presentation
and turn in response.
Any accomplishments below the “C” criteria will earn a “D” or less.
Studio Journals:
You will be required to keep a studio journal which will function
as a daily journal for notes, designs, definition of terms, and documentation
of studio time and practices. You will also respond to the
required reading in your journal.
Required Reading and Responses:
You will be assigned a number of readings from books or periodicals
held on reserve in the Library. After reading each selection
respond to the ideas in a critical analysis writing. DO NOT REPEAT
WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE READING, RESPOND TO IT!!
