Vanhorn, ShannonAssistant Professor of Communication ArtsHello! I am currently in my seventh year at VCSU, where I am an assistant professor. I teach communication (performance, human, and media) and writing courses here. I just earned my Ph.D. from North Dakota State University in Communication. My dissertation looked at teacher satisfaction in the online course. I am originally from Hillsboro, ND. I am married and have two sons, ages 23 and 17, and a daughter, 16. My 17-year old has Asperger Syndrome, so life is always interesting at our house. In my spare time (HA!), I dabble in flower gardening and raising Koi and various types of goldfish in our backyard fish pond. As a family, we enjoy going to the family lake cabin on Big Cormorant Lake in Minnesota.
