Hello! I am the Director of Distance Learning and Faculty Development at VCSU. I work with State Authorization information, articulation agreements, the Early Entry program, faculty development, and other projects as they come about. I am a Full Professor here and began my career at VCSU in 1999 as an instructor in the Communication Arts Department, leading to the department chair from 2010-2014, when I assumed this position. I teach two courses for the graduate department: Introduction to Education Research and Action Research. I also continue to teach for the Communication Arts Program, teaching everything from Fundamentals of Public Speaking to media courses to Interpersonal, Intercultural, group, and gender communication.

I earned all three of my degrees from North Dakota State University. My undergrad degree is in English Education. My master's degree is in organizational communication and public relations. My doctoral degree is communication.

I am active in my discipline at the state, and national levels. I am the current President of the Communication, Speech, and Theater Association of North Dakota. I am the Past President of the Communication and the Future division of the National Communication Association, as well as on NCA's Educational Policy Board.

I am married, live in Fargo and commute, and have five cats (yes, five) and two dogs. My kid are all grown up and in jobs and lives of their own. I enjoy flower gardening, crafts, and spending time at our lake place on Big Cormorant Lake.
