Corwin, Therese

Director of Special Projects

My current position as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs allows me to work in many areas including the Master's program, Assessment, grant management and my newest project, Extended Learning @VCSU. This is a professional development and continuing education unit for VCSU.

From 2000-2004 my position included both faculty development and assessment. Responsibilities included direction of the Summer Institute on teaching and learning, support the portfolio process, training for faculty and staff in new or existing software and hardware, implementation of the campus-wide assessment process, and grant writing. From 1995-2000 I directed the grant that funded VCSU's digital portfolios, now required of all undergraduate seniors.

During my first twenty years at VCSU, I was a professor in Physical Education, gymnastic coach, and director of the Valley Twisters, a nonprofit organization that offers gymnastic training for children within the community.

I received a B.A. in health & physical education from Gustavus Adolphus College, an M.S. in physical education from Moorhead State University, and a Ph. D. in Instructional Technology from Iowa State University.
