I have been in education for 38 years. I am a 1970 graduate of Valley City State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in secondary education and a 1976 graduate of UND with a Masters degree in Education and Management. From 1970 to 2003, I taught and coached at Valley City High School. During those years, I was the FBLA and DECA advisor. I am presently teaching in the Business and Information Technology department at Valley City State University. I am the coordinator of Business & Information Technology Day, and I am the advisor for the Pi Omega Pi chapter. I have also been the advisor for Phi Beta Lambda (PBL).
My wife, Jan, is a Special Education teacher with the Sheyenne Valley Special Education unit. I have three children: Tara (Gary), Fargo, Tricia, Minneapolis, and Jon, Phoenix. I have one granddaughter, Jordan, and one grandson, Jay.
