A critical step in the Individualized Instruction model is the identification and selection of personal learning efforts or activities (learning tasks) that effectively build knowledge and competencies appropriate to the students' needs.

There may be hundreds (if not thousands) of possible learning activities, strategies, and approaches students can use to explore this material and fulfill both the goals and objectives for the course, and the student's own learning goals.

Some ideas:

      • Prepare and deliver a Discussion Board Seminar
      • Literary review of 2 or more Books or Movies
      • Prepare a topical multimedia presentation
      • Good ol' research paper
      • Explore 'Urban Myths" about WWII Aviation
      • Interview a historian, or better yet, a veteran
      • Document a visit to a museum or restoration facility
      • Create (or perform) a topical "Web Scavenger Hunt" or "Webquest"
      • Take a Unit Exam
      • Create a Unit Exam
      • Moderate a Discussion Board Debate
      • Perform a line-level edit (rewrite) of the course narrative material
      • Explore WWII pop culture references
      • Interprative Dance (?)
