Bessie, Joseph
Vice President for Academic Affairs
Joseph Bessie has worked in higher education for more than twenty-eight years and has held positions at several colleges and universities. Some highlights include a six year appointment as Dean of Instruction for Transfer Programs at Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN, and ten years as a philosophy professor and philosophy program coordinator at the University of Central Oklahoma. Dr. Bessie's academic specializations include mathematical logic, the philosophy of science, and management ethics. He has produced a textbook and software in mathematical logic, articles in philosophy and the philosophy of science, and has many years of conference presentations and participation. He holds an M.B.A. in management from Southwest Minnesota State University, a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Minnesota, and a B.A. in philosophy and psychology from the University of California.
